I am a registered nurse and the Administrative Director of the Cardiovascular/ Endoscopy Service Lines and Quality Services at Bon Secours Saint Francis Health System. My 18 year nursing career has taken me from bedside cardiac nursing to nursing leadership, organizational quality and finally Service Line Leadership. I earned my Baccalaureate Degree in 1990 and my Graduate Degree in 2014. I also earned my Six Sigma Green Belt in 2009 and utilize many of the Six Sigma processes to transform care within my present organization. My work in the quality arena provided me the opportunity to work as an examiner for the 2009 South Carolina’s Governor’s Award program. Under my leadership, my team has developed successful processes producing consistent door to balloon times of less than 35 minutes, maintained all cause CHF and AMI readmission rates at or below 12 percent, improved STEMI and NSTEMI mortality rates, and reduced organizational CATH/PCI associated complication rates.My sound understanding of change management and team building has created a safer more reliable healthcare system. I recently became an active partner in the South Carolina Safe Care program. The program design is centered on the creation of highly reliable healthcare organizations throughout the state and nation. My sound understanding of transformational leadership and high reliability continues to provide positive changes in health care in the face of health care reform.
