About Ronald Albright, Ph.D.

Ron Albright comes from a geography and geospatial background (theoretical and applied), although he is a geographer at heart. Ron is currently instructing higher education courses in climate science, geography, and he just earned his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Houston. Ron gained advanced and applied multidisciplinary research project experience (using remote sensing and geospatial technologies) through multiple NASA DEVELOP internships as a science collaborator and a science communication specialist, and a science coordinator while employed at NASA’s Earth Science Division and Earth Observing System Project Science Office (EOSPSO). Ron’s doctoral research proposes spatiotemporal variability of CO2, solar-induced fluorescence (SIF), and precipitation over tropical rainforests. In particular, to better understand key contributing factors affecting terrestrial carbon sources and carbon sinks in global tropical rainforest regions.Ron’s future research interests are better understanding climate change and its potential impacts on human environments and vulnerable societies. Mainly focusing on answering complex questions linking the natural world to the human environment and utilizing remote sensing, geospatial, and numerical modeling methods to explore and investigate Earth and atmospheric processes, climate change expressly, and land surface-atmosphere interactions.
