Responsible for driving the technical side of the sales process for all Nortel enterprise products and technologies including data (LAN, WAN), WLAN, voice and optical.As well as covering all products as an SE generalist I also functioned as an optical Architect in the New England region. In this role I help to drive all aspects of the optical sales process. Activities include designing both metro and regional SONET and DWDM optical solutions for high capacity transport, redundant data center, backup and restore, disaster recovery and Fibre Channel SAN applications. Activities included educating the customer on optical technologies and solution sets during the sales process. The design of optical solutions includes using sophisticated optical modeling tools, used to model for engineering accuracy, followed by developing final detailed quotations for hardware and software. And helping to drive and coordinate internal processes to ensure a successful sale, fullfillment and installation.
