Prime Foods is a third generation family owned business specializing in the production and distribution of hardcooked egg products. The company is also involved in the production and distribution of commercial shell eggs and distributes liquid, frozen and dried egg products throughout the midwest, south central and southeastern U.S.

ESM Technologies develops and manufactures high-value, high-quality, branded ingredients from a controlled--and virtually limitless--supply of eggshell and eggshell membrane from USDA inspected facilities. Their chemical-free, patented processes allow the company to harvest an expanding line of ESMatrix wellness ingredients that target nutraceutical, cosmeceutical and biomedical market applications.

Rembrandt Enterprises is a relatively young egg production and processing company founded in 2000 in Rembrandt, Iowa. They have affiliated egg production and processing operations in Iowa and Missouri. On March 31, 2009 Rembrandt purchased the business assets of Golden Oval Eggs. I am currently working on a project to bring value to waste material generated from the egg and broiler industries.

Golden Oval Eggs, LLC, headquartered in Renville, Minnesota, was the nation’s second largest producer and marketer of liquid egg products. Begun in 1994 as a new generation cooperative with over 700 agricultural members, Golden Oval converted to an LLC in 2004 and purchased the Egg Products Division of Moark, LLC in 2006. Sales for fiscal 2008 exceeded $250 million led by marketing efforts targeting the industrial, foodservice and retail grocery sectors. On March 30, 2009 Golden oval sold their business to Rembrandt Enterprises of Rembrandt, IA.

Moark, LLC, headquartered in Norco, California was a division of Land O’ Lakes and a leading marketer, processor and producer of branded and private labeled shell eggs. Its 2008 sales exceeded $575 million with distribution across 46 states. It currently ranks as the nation’s third largest producer and second largest marketer of fresh shell eggs representing approximately 11.5% of the domestic market. Moark originally owned an egg products division which was sold to Golden Oval in 2006.

Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. is headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi and is the largest producer and distributor of fresh shell eggs in the United States. With a laying flock of approximately 25 million hens their 2007 sales exceeded 685 million dozens of eggs and they represent approximately 15.5% of the domestic market. NASDAQ: CALM
