Through extensive clinical and leadership training and practice, Dr Helwig has become an industry leader in physical therapy. Beginning with his Master of Physical Therapy degree from LSUMC in 1999, Ron's advanced clinical education has led to multiple advanced degrees and certifications including Doctor of Physical Therapy, Manual Therapy Certification, Dry Needling Certification, Fellow of the American Academy of Manual Physical Therapists, Fellow of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, and Fellow of Electrodiagnostics. He was the first physical therapist in New Orleans to perform dry needling and to branch out into Ultrasound and Electrodiagnostic testing. Dr Helwig is now co-owner of Magnolia Physical Therapy and currently holds the positions of Chief Medical Officer and Chief Operations Officer. During his tenure, Magnolia has achieved multiple distinctions including multiple years of recognition as an Inc 5000 business. Ron's purpose is helping as many people as possible to live a pain-free, active lifestyle. That was initially achieved primarily as a front line practitioner early in his career, but has transitioned into molding and guiding others to achieve optimal results through leading, training and mentoring the clinical team.
