This position is an administrative management role and as such will assist in evaluating current and proposed systems, policies, and procedures, recommend changes when necessary and assists in implementation of new processes, policies, and procedures. The position relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals as well as performs a variety of tasks including leading and directing the work of others. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:•Manages and oversees the day to day operations of the Research Facility.•Coordinates with faculty and staff to make purchase requests.•Works directly with appropriate WKU offices to ensure grant and purchase compliance for all projects associated with the Cyber Defense Laboratory.•Constructs proposal budgets and reviews proposals before submission.•Works to facilitate proposal submission and post award spending.•Oversees the daily operation of the Cyber Defense Test Bed and Data Center.•Works directly with hardware, software, and system vendors for potential purchases.•Works directly with the University’s Facility Security Officer to ensure information security as well as physical security.•Supervises the Network Administrator.Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:•Creation and maintenance of personnel forms for hiring.•Maintain policies and procedures relating to the daily operations of the Cyber Defense Lab.•Conducts and assists with research as needed.•Supervise and direct students, both graduate and undergraduate.•Serve as an economic development contact in partnership with various centers both on campus and within the community at large.•Host VIPs and other guests to include scheduling, speaking, demonstrations, etc.•Travel as required for conferences, presentations, trainings, etc. Show less
