Conversation Mandarin Chinese taught by first using Chinese pinyin to build each student's vocabulary. After the student has achieved rudimentary conversational skills, and a working knowledge of Mandarin grammar, Chinese characters are then taught.In this manner, students learn Mandarin as a second language in the same fashion that we all learn our mother tongues as children. First learn to speak, and then learn to read and write.
