I am accountable for developing and implementing accounting systems for micro to small enterprises who are unable to source professional services from the high end accounting and consulting firms. This involves providing advice on issues ranging from best practices in collecting and recording financial transactions, the most suitable accounting systems and software for a particular client to issues such as tax advisory and BEE compliance.The work also involves budgeting and financial forecasting, analyses of financial statements and advisory thereon, cost analyses to enable advisory on where the entity can save costs and better manage cash flows.Typical tasks I perform can be summarised as follows:- Capturing of accounting information on Pastel or Sage Online on a monthly basis.- Asset register maintenance including depreciation computations- All SARS registrations including Income Tax, PAYE and VAT registrations.- Submission of statutory returns (VAT Returns, PAYE returns and Income Tax Returns)- New Company Registrations- CIPC Company Amendments such as change of name, conversion from CC to Pty, change of directors and change of business address.

Management Accounting Functions- Develop, implement and and maintain budget policies and procedures- Monthly preparation of financial reports, budgets, cost reports and financial forecasts to aid strategic decision making- Perform Variance Analyses and preparing reports thereon- Identifying, analysing and monitoring key cost drivers- Monitor all legislation relevant to the organization (employment standards, occupational health and safety,etc.) and all regulations on professional certification to ensure that the organisation is compliant- Create and submit government and other statutory reports related to the projects.- Asset register maintenance including depreciation computations. Accounting and Tax Functions- Overseeing the capturing of all transactions from source documents- Preparing on a monthly basis the management accounts of the company- Preparing annual financial statements in accordance with the IFRS for Small and Medium Sized entities issued by the IASB- Income Tax, VAT and PAYE registrations - Preparation and submission of VAT returns

• Providing management with detailed cost analysis summaries of the various departments in the group’s companies. • Coordinating the Participative budgeting process among Project Managers for budgeting the quarterly and annual expenditure of each company within the group.• Assisting management minimise exposure to fluctuations in foreign exchange rates by monitoring Forward Exchange Rates with major banks and advising management on when to book forward covers.• Preparation of financial projections to aid management in decision making and for presentation to financial institutions as supporting documentation for finance applications.

• Performing Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations. • General Ledger Reconciliations• Inter-company reconciliations • Daily reconciling Bank statements to Cash book, and managing the petty cash float.• Creditors reconciliations and processing of payments • Extraction and consolidation of Trial Balances from the company’s depots • Maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register by computing and posting monthly depreciation
