About Ronaldo Calayan

I was a human rights lawyer and Vice President for Administration of Medical Center Lucena, a hospital, and Medical Center Lucena Educational Institution (MCLEI), a school. When MCLEI became Calayan Educational Foundation in 1995, I was elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees and President/CEO. I became active in Rotary International and was awarded as Most Outstanding President from the Rotary Club of Lucena South. I became District Officer since then and up to this date. I am semi-retired from law practice allowing my two lawyer-daughters to pick up where I left off.

I am the managing partner of the firm that specialized in human rights cases. I worked pro bono in a multitude of cases when the government's Public Assistance Office (PAO) for the poor could no longer accommodate litigants who were innocent but could not afford legal services paid mostly by the fruit of their labor like fruits, rice and livestock. As time went on, news spread and it is his lawyer-daughter who now enjoys the goodwill that has been created.
