Ron served over 21 years in the US Army in various roles culminating as a Military Aide to The U. S. Ambassador to Haiti in the capital city of Port-au-Prince and subsequently as The Deputy TRADOC Program Manager for The Battle Command Support Sustainment System that received the Army Knowledge Online Award of Excellence for 2004. Upon retiring as a Disabled Veteran, Ron worked for Genworth Financial as their Suppler Diversity Leader earning the distinguished Virginia Minority Supplier Diversity Development Council’s award for the Best New Program in the region and Elected to the Virginia and Carolinas Minority Supplier Diversity Councils Board of Directors as one of a select group of corporate members. He also worked as Certified Special Needs Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch in Richmond, VA from 2007 until 2009. From 2009 through 2015 he assumed his role as District Director and Military Liaison for Congressman J. Randy Forbes of Virginia’s 4th District. In this role Ron was responsible for constituent services for the largest part of the 700,000 citizen district and military matters and disaster emergency response for the entire district. In 2016 Ron has joined Southside Electric Cooperative's executive team as VP for Public and Member Relations. He is responsible for managing the development of internal and external communications and activities to enhance and secure a strong member, employee and community understanding of the Cooperative’s programs and policies.Ron was appointed by The Governor to serve on the Board of Visitors of Longwood University and now serves as a Trustee for The Longwood University Trust. Ron currently serves as a Board Member for The Richmond African American Scholarship Fund, The Robert Russa Moton Museum and John Tyler Community College. In 2015 Ron was appointed as The Richmond District Lay Leader for the Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church.
