Since William's death, his Warriors have taken on a new mission. The Goal is to defeat Childhood Cancer through Awareness, Advocacy and Support. William taught everyone around him about the incredible capacity we have for strength in the face of adversity. He was a real superhero fighting the worse kind of villain. The Drenk Center's Specialty Services Program is a residential program that provides highly structured services in a home-like setting for youth exhibiting high risk behaviors evidenced through aggressive, oppositional, non-compliant and destructive behaviors. Each home houses a maximum of 5 youth at any given time and has at least one "house parent" who acts as a mentor and parent figure for the children. The intensive Drenk treatment team is comprised of a therapist, case manager, psychiatrist, nurse, youth care workers, and the house parent(s). This program offers a family-like environment and works to build loving attachments as part of therapeutic intervention. The model also includes other key players in the process, including biological parents/family, teachers, peers, and therapeutic staff who all work as a part of the treatment team.
