I have worked in community access televison for over 19 years beginning with Lowell Cable Television - News Center 6 in 1991. From Sept. 1995 - March, 2010, I guided and managed Westford's local access studio mostly as a staff of one.In August, 2010 I joined ActonTV as their Education and Outreach Manager. My first priority there was to establish monthly production workshops for the Acton community. With this accomplished, ActonTV saw a tremendous increase in the number of active volunteers taking advantage of this unique and exciting community resource. By the time ActonTV moved to its present facility, workshops and training classes were well established and there was an ongoing demand to offer more. Advanced classes in editing, field production and production truck use were soon added along with specialized video production camps for kids. Other responsibilities encompass all aspects associated with the day to day operations of a vibrant and active production studio. Community outreach includes everything from manning a table at the Regional High School's career and volunteer days to crafting ActonTV's newsletter and maintaining a diligent and dynamic social media presence on sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
