I'm a senior in high school and have taken many health and engineering classes, including AP Biology, Engineering, Robotics, various wood shop classes, and I'm currently taking Medical Anatomy and Physiology. I'm interested in prosthetics, including myoelectric and active. I'm especially interested in the research of new forms of control and design, and just as much with patient care and how prostheses can be designed to improve the daily life of the patient. I have kept a 4.0 GPA throughout all of high school so far I've also been on several school and independent robotics teams over the course of middle and high school. Hanger Clinic Prosthetics and Orthotics granted me an internship this year, and this opportunity has and will help me greatly in my further education. After high school and college, I aim to become a prosthetist. Gaining experience so early in the field will help me learn and understand both the technical side of prosthetics and the social side. At Hanger, I am following and observing the manufacturing and the clinical side of the job. The soft skills I gain in my internship will help me throughout my educational and occupational life, and the technical skills and techniques observed will help me immensely when I work towards my master's degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics.In my free time I love to read, to design 3D models, and to fix my 3D printer. I like to design models with a use for my friends and family, but I also enjoy designing more artistic prints. I'm very interested in science and technology including how it could affect my future career and education. I've moved around a lot in my life and have always enjoyed the outdoors, whether it be a desert or a forest.
