• In August of 2014, VEI asked me to stay on once my college term was completed and at this time I became a full time employee.• My current roles include maintenance/troubleshooting/MAC work on hosted PBX systems (FreePBX), other on-site PBX solutions (Unify/Siemens, Yeastar), NICE voice recording systems, Wi-Fi systems (such as Ubiquiti and Aruba), network infrastructures (HP, Ubiquiti, Cisco, TP-Link) and general ICT work such as monthly upgrades of PCs/server/anti-virus for various customers.• My helpdesk roles include assigning incoming support calls to the other engineers, completing tasks within my skill set, scheduling engineers for Vodafone specific jobs, providing quotes for equipment/engineer time for customers, completing quarterly backups of all customers, maintaining VEI’s server and network infrastructure.

Third year internship was with VEI Ltd. Working closely with the senior engineers on hotel Wi-Fi installations, PBX installations and being on the road as a contractor for a national mobile provider (surveying, installing for and training customers)

Upon first working here, I was shown how the office was networked and then was asked to change out a computer for a newer model and install the operating system to specification of the office from an operating system image stored on their server. I completed the task and made sure the computer was then working.I was shown what to do in the event of a hard drive failure upon the server. This is where my basic troubleshooting skills were tested. Upon a failure, I was required to find the corrupt drive and replace it with a new one.I am doing this work on call in the evenings whenever the other IT consultant is abroad or unable to get to the city to diagnose a problem.

Working on the Sales Floor keeping up the standards of the store through maintaining the stock and serving customers.Other duties included: managing the stock room, folding and picking clothes, manning the sales till during busier hours such as Christmas and helping customers find their desired goods and sizes.

My primary role here was supervising the production of Bluecat Adblue, a diesel additive primarily found in trucks and newer diesel cars.My role was to change out the bag and pipes that fed to the storage tank, supervise the mixture of urea and de-ionized water, make sure that levels in tanks were sufficient/not overfilled, fill IBCs & cans for retail distribution and assist in the filling of the truck container that went out to petrol stations countrywide.I also assisted the other workers with other tasks involving both hazardous and non-hazardous distribution.

This meant serving customers queries, dealing with their returns and helping with cash transactions.o Upon working in this position, I was praised for my friendly manner and the way I dealt with each situation I was faced with. This was from both customers and my supervisors/managers• I was also trained in their voice assisted warehouse system where I was able to process the returns to the store and place them back upon the shelves of the warehouse• I was frequently called upon for my IT knowledge by other staff members when it came to products such as laptops, cameras, games consoles or other electronics.

This is my father and uncle's company that I worked in during my summers in secondary school.My duties included using specialised engineering machines (on the workshop floor) such as metal bandsaws, metal presses and metal punching machines. I also assisted in deliveries and cleaned the workshop floor on quieter occasions.
