Ronan Ryan is Executive Director, CIBC Foundation & Senior Director, Community Partnerships, where he leads a talented and purpose-driven team serving the CIBC Foundation's commitment to creating a world without limits to ambition. His passion is to serve the key CIBC Foundation focus areas of supporting cancer initiatives, championing inclusive communities, and investing in financial education. Previously Ronan served as Chief Executive Officer of the Alzheimer Society of Canada, where he led the National organization fighting for the rights and interests of those living with Alzheimer disease and Dementia, their families, and caregivers. He worked tirelessly with the Board, staff and volunteers to provide relief and support to those living with the disease, supporting healthcare professionals, driving research strategy and funding critical, innovative work across Canada. Prior to that, Ronan served as the Chief Marketing & Development Officer at the Canadian Red Cross, where he led a team of awarded-winning Marketers, Fundraisers, First Aiders and Water Safety specialists. He transformed the organization’s fundraising model, raising $1BN in five years, led on digital transformation and developed the Canadian Red Cross’s first Transformational Giving campaign. In parallel, Ronan led the Red Cross's commercial operations, overseeing the programs that teach life-saving first-aid and water safety skills to Canadians through a network of over six thousand valued training partners. Over six hundred thousand people every year take a Red Cross first aid course, while over one million Canadians take a Red Cross swimming or water safety course. Ronan serves as Chair of the Board of Imagine Canada, and has served on various advisory bodies such as the Canadian Marketing Association’s Not-for-profit Council and the Advisory Board of the Masters in Management Analytics Program at Queens University.
