It & Broadcast Technology ManagerWorld Rugby Jun 2017 - Aug 2022Since joining the WorldRugby (IRB) I have been responsible for the IT planning and execution of the IRB Sevens World Cup - Hong Kong (2005), IRB U21 Rugby World Cup - France (2006), Women’s Rugby World Cup – 2006, 2010, 2014, 2017 & 2021, England (2010), France (2014), IRB U19 Rugby World Cup – Ireland (2007), Junior World Championship – 2008 - 2020. My involvement in Rugby World Cup 2007 & 2011 included the production and analysis of the IT & telecoms tenders, systems analysis & planning and ensuring that contracts are fulfilled by suppliers. For RWC 2015 I led the project to implement independent video replay to assist with player welfare, team services, Match Officials (TMO), in addition to the normal technology role. RWC 2019 amounts to the above plus the additional responsibility of the graphics and statistical services to the tournament.Outside of these projects I manage the service desk for the technology dept and I also lead on innovation for the company.The innovation role is in its infancy, but a very exciting role reporting directly to the CEO.

My involvement in Rugby World Cup 2007 & 2011 included the production and analysis of the IT & telecoms tenders, systems analysis & planning and ensuring that contracts are fulfilled by suppliers. I am currently managing the IT needs for the JWC 2015 (Italy) & 2016 (England).In addition to this I have the lead role in the planning and implementation of a number of on-going projects including:• Planning and implementation of an IT strategic plan for all non RWC tournaments for the next 5 years• Consolidation and migration of systems to cloud infrastructure• Staff IT skills evaluation which has led to a staff up-skilling program• ERP feasibility group, integrate and enhance the systems and procedures used by the IRB• Team video / broadcast partners sharing solution, selection of system to provide an efficient high speed solution to assist in the delivery and storage of media (video packages) for both the analysis and broadcast departments.
