HSBC’s global reinsurance hub was set up in Ireland and my role was to build out the in-house actuarial and risk management functions. This role required building, from scratch, the team, systems, processes and software required to manage a disparate group of (re)insurance businesses and knit those into the risk management framework for HSBC Bank.

Established the Risk Management function for the Imagine Group subsidiary of Brookfield in 2004. Reported directly to the Chief Risk Officer. The unit consisted of 10 personnel that were responsible for monitoring and setting reserves for Imagine’s $2Bn portfolio of liabilities as well producing the economic capital model for the group and its Lloyd’s corporate syndicates.

One of five pricing actuaries charged with the pricing and structuring of new and renewal business for Zurich's Centre Re subsidiary in Europe. Involved in the production of deterministic and stochastic cash-flow pricing models to assist in the pricing and valuation of transactions. An integrated part of the underwriting team involved in structuring reinsurance contracts and in negotiations with counterparties, partner-reinsurers or financiers as the deal required.
