We delivered a mobile app for consumers that use it outdoors and indoors to enhance their personal safety. in addition, we developed a command center with special security agents that can help the users at times when they feel unsafe through unique technologies on the mobile app.The most advanced technology was an iPad size handheld drone that could reliably track the user and transmit real-time video to the command center.

We envisioned enabling a hybrid cloud operation model, whereby workloads can be deployed locally in the enterprise’s own data center or on Amazon Web Services public cloud and migrate between them.I joined the team soon after the completion of series B fundraising from Intel, Cisco, Western Digital, Bessemer, and Battery. I put together methodology, product & development processes, and organizational support that enabled the initial product introduction. Enterprise customers deployed the product and transformed a bunch of production servers into an AWS-compatible cloud in their data center.

At Primary Data, we developed scale-out storage through data virtualization. The customers can consolidate all their NAS solutions into a single namespace that can scale to billions of entities. I established the global engineering organization of Primary Data (Tel-Aviv, Israel, and Los-Altos, CA, USA) and shipped the first POC release of the product.

I joined IBM through the acquisition of Diligent Technologies. I eventually led an organization of 500 engineers that generated more than $550M in annual revenues.It started with integrating Diligent into IBM. Then I led the technical due diligence of the acquisition of StorWize, the leader in Real-Time Compression technology for storage. The three acquisitions, XIV, Diligent, and StorWize, had been joined together into one engineering department that I was assigned to lead. The leading brand in the group has been XIV enterprise storage.We set product roadmap, product quality goals, and customer service standards. I served as a customer advocate for key accounts like Barclays, eBay, Goldman Sachs, JPMC, and others.Through my tenure with the team, we doubled the number of engineers; set a cadence of 3 annual feature releases; released a new generation of enterprise storage with 12 times better performance that was the market leader; improved field quality by order of magnitude, and attained 99.9999 availability; reach adoption by 1,600 new customers to IBM storage and grow the install base to 10,000 systems globally.

I led the development of patent awarded leading technology for enterprise data de-duplication (compression at a very large scale). The technology has been deployed by more than 3,000 customers and helped them 1. Shrink the backup storage by 20:1.2. Electronically replicate the backup data to a remote disaster recovery sire without needing to send tapes by trucks.The company was established as a spinoff of EMC’s R&D center in Tel-Aviv. I joined soon after the establishment of Diligent Technologies and led the transformation of this research team into a vibrant and energized team that can deliver. I’ve recruited new talent and skills and led the development of the technology and product from inception to the early adoption by enterprises like AT&T (formerly Cingular), United Health, Skoda, and others. Later added features like clustering enabled the global adoption. IBM acquired the company in 2008.

At times when firewall became a commodity, there were concerns about the vulnerabilities of the OS and platforms that used to run them. At SpearHead, we introduced a firewall and application content inspection solution that addressed this vulnerability concern with a unique FPGA technology. We shipped an integrated solution of an appliance, software, and management tools that could secure a trusted network zone from the outside world. Bezeq was an early adopter of the product. The global integrator Telindus was a reseller for the product in Europe, and there were some successful POCs in China.

My first startup experience. Drivers could dial #321 and get onto our speech-enabled voice portal. It could get you a coupon from the advertiser that was on your radio or help you buy the song you just heard on the radio. I developed the first demo. We raised capital from JVP. I quickly built an R&D team that, in 12 months, deployed the service in Philadelphia, PA. We serviced three radio stations and acquired 800 subscribers in just a few weeks. This business was close consequent to the 9/11 financial crisis.

I joined the electronic warfare division as a subject matter consultant. I led crafting a new concept of operation for a new generation system that had been adopted by the Israeli Airforce as well as other global customers. I led the software development of these systems and had been a trusted advisor to many customers.

I’m proud that I was a developer and a commander in this team that was awarded the Israeli Defense Prize for delivering an operational revolutionary Intelligence gathering system that pioneered automatic and remote operation.
