Manager, Transit Administration
- Responsible for directing and compiling Transit Department's operating and capital budget documents. Provide support and direction to other Transit branches for the preparation and monitoring of budgets.- Plans, organizes and manages the activities of the Transit Administration Branch; co-ordinates these activities with external agencies and other areas of the organization to ensure the efficient and cost effective delivery of services.- Leads and directs the implementation of information management technology on behalf of the Transit Department. Responsible for intermediate and long range development, planning, testing and implementation of enhancements to computerized systems to meet changing needs and provide higher quality of service.- Provides expertise in the development of Transit strategic business plans and ensure the plans are aligned with the established objectives, measurements and targets for City Operations Division and the Corporation.- Ensures the effective operation of the branch by recruiting, selecting, training and developing administrative and business systems staff. Provides direction, assigns duties, reviews performance and appraisal and discipline of staff.- Participates in the development and maintenance of the branch's organization structure and business processes that provide for the effective and efficient delivery of services.- Approves requisitions, expenditures and other transactions within the limits of authority; takes necessary action to protect corporate assets against improper use, loss or waste.
