Responsible for general supervision of Township affairs and serve as the legislative body of the township – setting policy, enacting ordinances and resolutions and adopting budgets. Perform executive functions such as formulating multi-million dollar budget, enforcing ordinances, approving expenditures and hiring employees. As a Commissioner in Lower Mac we:-We successfully reduced property tax bills for homeowners using the homestead program. As it stands Lower Macungie’s property tax is the lowest of any suburban community in the entire Lehigh Valley.-We have preserved nearly 300 more acres of open space and farmland over the last 3 years.-We’ve become the most transparent local government in the Lehigh Valley.- Year to year we reduced general fund spending while maintaining a very high level of services.
