Fedtech's Homeland Security Startup Studio is designed to accelerate and deliver commercial and government applications of technologies to meet homeland security needs. The innovative program brings together teams of entrepreneurs and match them with ground-breaking technologies to assess their commercialization potential. Entrepreneurs work hand-in-hand with lab scientists and inventors, Fedtech coaches and advisors to explore forming companies around those technologies to solve the real-world homeland security problems of government and commercial customers.

 Led a team of 7 professionals responsible for the company's SEC, Regulatory (Y-9C) and Basel reporting for Derivatives and Hedging and Accumulated Other Comprehensive Income. Automated most of AXP's Regulatory and Basel reporting with minimal manual intervention. Played a key role, working with financial systems partners to design, propose solutions and troubleshoot automating Amex's derivative data flow and process solutions to remediate Fed MRAs. Led relationship with Treasury, Tax and other business partners to identify, evaluate and implement accounting for new business transactions under ASC815 and ASC830. Implemented new Interest Rate Swap hedge accounting strategy featuring the OIS benchmark approach to minimize hedge ineffectiveness and improve Asset-Liability Management and Earnings at Risk flexibility. Led successful 'early adoption' of FASB ASU 2017-12: benchmark-coupon component, short-cut, partial term and late term hedging to prospectively eliminate hedge ineffectiveness on interest rate swap portfolio. Led a successful system integration v.6 upgrade of Quantum (FIS) Treasury Management System to create efficiencies in our cash, debt and investment management processes and risk assessment.

 Served as Hess Marketing & Refining group's lead on Mark-to-Market (MTM) and Natural Gas Wholesale Inventory Accounting. Analyzed forecast and actual MTM Accounting PnL results and communicated key driver highlights to M&R Finance management.  Played a lead role working closely with Corporate Risk on identifying, evaluating, documenting, and accounting for new and existing energy, energy-related, and other complex business transactions under the requirements of ASC815 and related guidance within GAAP. Responsible for annual review, revision and approval of MTM SOX process documentation and served as MTM liaison with external and internal auditors to enable timely execution of their audit/review procedures.  Prepared, gathered and organized financial data in a timely manner to meet internal reporting requirements as well as to facilitate quarterly SEC financial statements and disclosures.
