I have experience in warehouse management, inventory control, as well as inventory auditing. I also have over 20 years of experience with purchasing and contracting. While I prefer work that allows me to work in Excel and use various data systems, I also enjoy being able to help customers. I like to help people find what they need be it information or tangible items, and I have always felt that good customer service is vital to any job. I consider myself an Excel geek, however, I know there is so much you can do with that program and I may only be scratching the surface.I worked in procurement and contracting while on the Coast Guard. Those duties also included financial management formulating budgets and managing the execution of those budgets. Military time often has its members performing other responsibilities outside of the normal assigned duties. These extra activities would change when transferred to a different duty station. These changes taught me adapt to change and quickly learn to do new things. This adaptability has helped since I transitioned to government service on the civilian side. Keeping an open mind when change happens is important.As a Budget Analyst for the government for the last 5 years, I have seen this adaptability put to the test. It’s not easy, but I still strive to learn and progress. The best thing about the jobs I have had is the teams I work with. When you have a good team, where people get along and communicate well, many challenges can be overcome. Also, the stress of the work can be kept to a minimum knowing you have the support of that team. I believe that a successful team is the result of open communication. One that allows for no fear in what is brought up and it's understood that it's all in an effort to grow.
