I am a former Assistant Group Counsel with a Fortune 500 manufacturing company. My responsibilities covered all environmental issues, and that experience gave me first-hand knowledge of the environmental and regulatory issues facing industry today.After more than twenty years in private practice, I have a broad environmental practice counseling clients in the sale, purchase, and development of contaminated properties, including Brownfields, and in occupational safety and health (OSHA) challenges. I've worked extensively in environmental and toxic tort litigation at trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts relating to cost recovery under Superfund (CERCLA), property damage, personal injury, and regulatory decisions. I am licensed to practice law in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, and I'm a frequent lecturer and writer on environmental law topics. I'm a former chair of the Environmental and Natural Resources Section of the South Carolina Bar and a former secretary to the Environmental Issues Committee of the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce. I've also been recognized in the publications Best Lawyers in America® (2007-2013) and South Carolina Super Lawyers®.
