Botswana

Calabrese undertook a varied workload in managing the properties in its scope of works. This entails general maintenance / upkeep and property management. (Security, logistics, procurement, staffing, contractors, lease agreements, levies and rental collections). Tracking of programmes and maintenance works to meet contractual milestone dates. • Owner co-ordination and occupation• Compilation of budgets on future / preventative maintenance.• Management and negotiation of contractual lease agreements.• Periodic maintenance of the buildings and equipment.• Close out of requested maintenance items.• Collection of monthly levies and disbursements.• Daily management of project staff, plant, materials and sub-contractors.• Attend all client / site progress and consultants’ meetings.• Development and implementation of the construction programme.• Financial and progress reporting.Project Involvement:• Oranto Hotel – Finishing and fit-out (Nigeria).• Multi residential units – Dabo Estates 27 units (Botswana).• Multi residential units – Broadhurst Primary School - 15 units (Botswana).• Commercial properties – Great Divide / (Botswana).

Gaborone

My position as covered projects of a varied nature with full accountability for the day to day running and successful completion of projects.• Daily management of project staff, plant, materials and sub-contractors.• Attend all client and site progress meetings.• Financial and progress reporting.• Sub-contractor control – progress / financial .• Manage all Health, Safety and Quality control aspects of the project.• Tennant co-ordination / liaison and fit out.Project Involvement:• Jwaneng - Cut 8 mine (biggest diamond producing mine in the world per value) and Morupule Colliery Value of P25mil / P18mil respectively.• The project included new buildings, line up facilities, conveyors, bunds and major concrete works.• Town Lodge Hotel (106 rooms – P43mil) inclusive of all associated services. • Revamp works to a shopping mall for the Edcon Group as well as extensions to a Shopping Centre, • New Virgin Active Club – Botswana (P70 mil) New “Tiger Wheel & Tyre” – Botswana (P5 mil)• Pasdec offices and warehouse – Lobatse Botswana – (P 17mil)• Mascom Data Centre revamp – (P 3mil)

Botswana

As contracts manager, I was responsible for all aspects of a fast track project to construct a new shopping centre in Gaborone, Botswana. This follows the successful completion of a similar, but multi level shopping centre during 2010 in South Africa. (iLanga Mall, Nelspruit)• Daily project monitoring and take corrective action when required.• Oversee contractual aspects with sub-contractors as well as client / developer.• Management of project staff, plant, materials and sub-contractors.• Attend all client and site progress meetings / Chair sub-contractors’ meetings.• Monthly cost reporting in conjunction with QS staff.• Manage all Health, Safety and Quality control aspects of the project.• Tennant co-ordination / liaison and fit out.Project Involvement:• Construct a new shopping centre in Gaborone of 22000m2 lettable area. This included all bulk earthworks, sewer and water reticulation networks.• Airport Junction Mall, Gaborone (P 300mil) iLanga Mall, Nelspruit – 44 000m2 (R650mil).

United Arab Emirates

The position was that of senior project manager, responsible for all aspects of this 2-year project to upgrade the road network by constructing 5 new bridges and 3 underpasses, varying in size, from double lane bridges of 242m long to underpasses of 600m in length, as well as various other projects.Project Involvement:• New multi storey office block and Warehouse facilities - AED 150 000 000.00• Underpasses / trunking networks – Jebel Ali Airport - AED 4 500 000.00• Dubai World Central Staff Village - AED 1 500 000 000.00• Dubai Roads & Transport Authority (RTA)• Improvements to Parallel Roads, 5 Bridges & 3 underpasses, including piling and conventional bridge construction - AED 270 000 000.00

Botswana

My responsibility covered projects of a varied nature, from the commissioning phase of a newly constructed Serowe Hospital, (P 260 000 000) the fast track of a new hangar for the “Zeppelin” airship” (P 6 000 000) as well as the start of a new “Gyro” crusher and silos for Tati Nickel Mine. (P 750 000 000).

Botswana

Projects manager, covering projects of a varied nature, including renovations and fit out of banking institutions, new multi-level office blocks, parking lots and the construction of new warehouses.

Angola

Manage all aspects of this 3-year fast track project, constructing “pre-cast” Housing units, 4 and 6 storey residential units $ 130 000 000.
