• As contracts manager, I was responsible for all aspects of a fast track project to construct a new shopping centre in Gaborone, Botswana. This follows the successful completion of a similar, but multi level shopping.
• Daily project monitoring and take corrective action when required.
• Oversee contractual aspects with sub-contractors as well as client / developer.
• Management of project staff, plant, materials and sub-contractors.
• Attend all client and site progress meetings / Chair sub-contractors’ meetings.
• Monthly cost reporting in conjunction with QS staff.

United Arab Emirates

• The position was that of senior project manager, responsible for all aspects of this 2-year project to upgrade the road network by constructing 5 new bridges and 3 underpasses, varying in size, from double lane bridges.
• New multi storey office block and Warehouse facilities - AED 150 000 000.00
• Underpasses / trunking networks – Jebel Ali Airport - AED 4 500 000.00
• Dubai World Central Staff Village - AED 1 500 000 000.00
• Dubai Roads & Transport Authority (RTA)
• Improvements to Parallel Roads, 5 Bridges & 3 underpasses, including piling and conventional bridge construction - AED 270 000 000.00

My responsibility covered projects of a varied nature, from the commissioning phase of a newly constructed Serowe Hospital, (P 260 000 000) the fast track of a new hangar for the “Zeppelin” airship” (P 6 000 000) as well as the start of a new “Gyro” crusher and silos for Tati Nickel Mine. (P 750 000 000).
