As senior vice president and general manager of Burns & McDonnell’s Water Practice, I am responsible for all of the firm’s water business globally. Burns & McDonnell is a full-service engineering, architecture, and construction firm founded in 1898 to support the development of power and water/wastewater infrastructure for growing municipalities across the U.S. Today, Burns & McDonnell is the nation’s top engineering firm in the power sector (ENR 2018) and one of the nation’s top water/wastewater service providers.I have served as program director and project manager for large-scale, complex projects in the water, public works, aviation, manufacturing and energy sectors. I have led innovative initiatives including Kansas City’s $4.5 billion Overflow Control Program, recognized as the first Consent Decree program of its kind to utilize green infrastructure and adaptive management principals as part of the design solution. I also led Kansas City’s capital projects and helped reengineer its capital program with the establishment of its Capital Improvements Management Office. This $1.2 billion program proved successful, winning the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ award of excellence in public/private partnerships, which recognized the program as a model in city governments for innovation and efficiency improvement. Prior to joining Burns & McDonnell, I managed the largest U.S. operating division of Atkins Americas/The Benham Companies, in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he served as division vice president and managing director. I currently serve on the board of directors for United Way of Greater Kansas City, the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, and the Advisory Committee for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City. I have served on the board of directors for the Downtown Council of Kansas City, having served as Board Chairman in 2012, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City, the Missouri State Chamber of Commerce, the Hawthorn Foundation, the Tulsa Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and the Oklahoma Academy for State Goals. I graduated from the Kansas City Tomorrow program in 2006, and from Leadership Missouri in 2009. I received a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Missouri Kansas City, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University and I am a proud member of the Cherokee Tribe of Oklahoma.
