About Ron Culberson

I am a former speaker, humorist and author of four books including “Do it Well. Make it Fun. The Key to Success in Life, Death, and Almost Everything in Between.” From 1996-2023, I delivered hilarious and inspirational presentations to more than 260,000 people in over 1,300 organizations. In 2001, I received the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation from the National Speakers Association (NSA) and in 2014, I was inducted into NSA’s CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame®.Prior to my speaking career, I was a hospice social worker, Counseling Manager, and Director of Quality Services at Hospice of Northern Virginia. For my Master of Social Work thesis, I studied the benefits of humor and laughter.In 2020, I received my national certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and in 2022, I became a certified firefighter.Starting in 2015, I began working on a documentary called “Pep Banned” about the creative antics of the University of Virginia Pep Band. The University of Virginia (UVA) Pep Band was an irreverent scramble band that entertained crowds from 1974 until it was dis-banded by the university in 2002. In 2023, nearly 140 former band members came back to UVA to reconnect, heal some old wounds, and perform one last show.
