Commercial Driver License Program Manager
CurrentServe as a program manager in Driver Central Programs (DCP) team in the CentralPrograms Bureau. Primary responsibility for compliance and oversight for allCommercial Driver License (CDL) programs and services in the Iowa Motor Vehicle Division basedon federal and state laws and administrative rules. Work with a variety of internal staff and external stakeholders to lead projects and direct activities. Responsible for ensuring Iowa's CDL program is compliant with State and Federal law by developing and maintaining high-level expertise on all federal and state laws concerning CDL issuance and maintenance;. Serve as the primary staff person to interpret and disseminate information and develop and maintain close and collaborative relationships with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) and other federal or state agencies to ensure understanding of legal requirements and proper response to directives. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to communicate compliance-related information to the CDL customer community. Identify and develop legislative and administrative rule proposals to ensure compliance of CDL programs with the law, including developing proposals in response to federal law. Develop and maintain CDL program metrics and performance measures to ensure compliance and continual improvement. Lead Projects and initiatives for the CDL compliance and improvement. Train and support CDL issuance and audit staff and partners. Monitor federal, state and industry communication to identify emerging CDL issues.
