Founded Limestone Post Magazine, an online publication focusing on the arts, outdoors, family, business, and issues of social concern to the people of Bloomington and south-central Indiana. Runs the day-to-day operations and manages an Editorial Director, Marketing & Advertising Director, and dozens of contract editorial contributors. On the editorial side, responsibilities include writing, editing, story development, assigning stories, and upholding the editorial integrity of the magazine. On the publishing side, responsibilities include marketing, advertising sales, brand development and management, community outreach, and all other aspects of running a business.

Primary responsibilities involved managing the editorial side of the print and online magazine, including developing story ideas, recruiting contract (freelance) writers and photographers, and managing story assignments, in addition to proofing, fact-checking, and editing all editorial content. Also managed many other departments, including distribution, circulation, and production of advertorial content. Worked closely with the publisher and associate publisher on marketing, advertising, and promotions, including a brief but successful stint selling ads.

Contract writer and editor for a number of companies and organizations, from law firms to universities to Fortune 500 companies. Projects included proofreading and editing and a variety of documents: contracts, technical manuals, regulatory guidelines, marketing materials, ad copy, press releases, etc.

Independent owner/operator of a semitractor-trailer, contracting exclusively with Mayflower Van Lines to help pay off student loan debt. Drove in the contiguous 48 states and ran all aspects of the trucking business: accounting, hiring and managing day labor, planning and executive orders, and loading and unloading shipments, among others. Paid off student loans with enough left over to move to New York City.

Held various responsibilities for the wholesale baking subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch, Inc. Primarily ran a field marketing department in which I trained merchandisers to collect store data using laptop computers (a revolutionary system at the time, developed by parent company Anheuser-Busch). This data was collected and compiled into presentations that account executives would present to senior management at Campbell Taggart; executive leaders of Campbell Taggart's manufacturing, distribution, and marketing facilities across the country; and corporate customers.
