ALCOIL, Inc - Startup company designing and manufacturing custom, brazed, aluminum, micro-channel heat exchangers for the HVAC/R and Industrial Process Industries. As VP of OPERATIONS - Directed all operational aspects of Manufacturing and Logistics including Production, Production Planning and Scheduling, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Procurement, Quality, Warehouse, Shipping, and Information SystemsJoining the company at the initial startup, I developed and led a team of 14 employees to estimated current year-end sales of $1 to 1.25 million

(formerly HEALTH CHEM CORP. - New York, NY a $40 million dollar publicly traded company with four divisions manufacturing products for the industrial, pharmaceutical, andhealthcare markets.) As DIRECTOR OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS Directed the strategic planning and technical direction for all IT initiatives. Identified and managed the development and implementation of innovative hardware and software solutions utilizing both custom in-house developed and off the shelf products significantly improving operations of the company. Position also required management and maintenance of all corporate computer hardware, infrastructure and data center. .• Enabled $2 million in new sales by developing a Customer Web Portal.• Developed a flexible, easy to use, query tool to data mine and analyze customer, product, product line and business unit sales. The tool freed each of the 12+ managers and salesman 5 to 6 hours a week to focus on additional sales opportunities.• Created an order entry product configurator to enter and create custom item job shop orders. The 3 day order processing lead time was reduced to 2 minutes ending with a work order immediately providing on the shop floor with complete and accurate work instructions and requirements.• Supported approximately 100 users and 7 remote sales offices utilizing only 2 employees and a $500K budget.

$1 million implementation of an ERP business system (PRISM and JD Edwards) into each of Health Chem's four companies. Responsibilities included working with senior management to establish the project timeline, leading the implementation team, and managing all aspects of the project in accordance with the aggressive implementation timeline. • The largest of the 4 companies (accounting for approximately 85% of the corporate revenue) went live in 9 months instead of the projected timeline of 18 months. Inventory accuracy improved from an estimated 70 to 75% to an achieved actual 98-99% eliminating the need for the yearly 2 week production shutdown for physical inventory. • Developed and set-up all new scheduling, inventory numbering and control, Bills of Material, and shop floor tracking, routing, and control systems for the largest company.• Working with a software developer designed, implemented and concurrently went live with a “real time” bar coded inventory system for the new manufacturing ERP software system eliminating the old paper inventory transaction recording system.

Serving in a newly created position set -up and directed all phases of production planning, inventory and production control.• Implemented master production scheduling and time phased material requirements planning providing Customer Service with immediate available-to-promise information • Consolidated all purchasing under one functional department and reduced order lead times by one to two days.• Developed and formalized engineering change process eliminating errors caused by inadequate or mis-communicated information which improved customer service and saved an estimated $10K per year.

Directed the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program. Managed the pre-award review and administration of Government contracts. Managed chemical inventories. Determined/implemented production process improvements.
