I am currently a Professor in the Department of Engineering Mechanics at Xi'an Jiaotong University in Xi'an, China. I worked as a postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Materials and Engineering at Stanford University from 2019 to 2022. I received my Ph.D. degree from the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University in 2018. My research lies at the intersection of mechanics, electrochemistry, and material science, with a particular interest in their applications in lithium battery technologies. I conducted a series of studies using integrated experimental and numerical approaches to reveal the origins of the chemomechanical failure of lithium batteries and leverage this fundamental understanding to guide the material and structural design for state-of-the-art energy solutions.
