My communication duties at Heartland REC include all aspects of our member newsletter (writing, photography, layout) our advertising and publicity, and other aspects of our public profile, including our website. I'm also the company's "ombudsman" of sorts, and help our members with service issues and do everything I can to make sure our service to them is exceptional. I am responsible for planning our annual meeting of the members, and work to stay on top of energy efficiency issues and new technologies that affect our members. In 2015 my job expanded to include supervising all of our Member Service Representatives with responsibilities including all of our interactions with members.

Started work at The Press as the newspaper's staff photographer. Quickly learned layout and design, and was promoted to editor and then general manager. In addition to overseeing the newspaper's employees, I was also responsible for the paper's design, website, budget, and managed the office's computer network. The staff and I received many awards for our work, and we strived to be a positive force in the community.
