I have over 30 years of operations and consulting experience in the hospitality industry. My operations experience covers hotels and resorts, restaurants, clubs, catering and foodservice businesses, while my consulting experience was developed through key appointments with leading professional services firms that specialise in the hospitality industry, including Horwath Asia Pacific (now Horwath HTL), Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young), Arthur Andersen, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Knight Frank Expotel, Deloitte, and my own company AHS Advisory.In 2003 I established the Australian practice of HVS International in Sydney, with Rutger Smits whom I had worked with at Arthur Andersen. In 2007 we sold our business to Cushman & Wakefield and we both assumed the position of Executive Director. The division was closed in late 2009.My specific business and financial analytical skills are based on the operations positions I originally held in hotels, restaurants, catering companies, clubs, bars, nightclubs, and banquet operations; which were focussed on the revenue, cost and financial management side of those hospitality businesses.From my (now) many years of consulting experience I have a deep understanding of the dynamics of hotel and foodservice markets, as well as a detailed understanding of operational issues and business management aspects related to the hospitality industry.
