About Dr Ronie Walters

As an ICF accredited performance and wellbeing coach, I draw on my coaching skills and techniques, along with my extensive knowledge in psychology. I hold a 1st class honours degree, an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology, and a PhD in health behaviour change, health inequalities, and health communication. In addition, as someone with lived experience of disability and caring for others with mental health, neurodivergence, and chronic health conditions, I have a deep understanding of the importance of supporting employees with disabilities or caring responsibilities. This background enables me to create powerful bespoke coaching and training programs tailored to your specific needs. I strongly believe that as a society we need to start paying more attention to what individuals need to thrive – not just survive. Here are five key reasons wellbeing work benefits your organisation – and your employees: 💡Improved productivity and performance: When employees are physically and mentally well, they are more productive, engaged, and motivated to perform their best. They have the energy and focus to tackle challenging tasks and work effectively, leading to better outcomes for the organisation.💡Reduced absenteeism and presenteeism: Employee wellbeing initiatives can help reduce absenteeism due to illness and presenteeism, which can negatively impact their productivity and wellbeing. By prioritizing employee wellbeing, organisations can help employees stay healthy and engaged in their work.💡Enhanced employee retention: Employees who feel supported and valued by their organisation are more likely to stay with the company for the long-term. Investing in employee wellbeing can help improve job satisfaction and reduce turnover rates, which can be costly for organisations.💡Positive employer branding: Organisations that prioritize employee wellbeing are seen as attractive employers that care about their employees. This can enhance the organisation's reputation, improve its ability to attract top talent, and increase employee loyalty.💡Legal compliance: Employers have a duty of care to provide a safe and healthy work environment for their employees. Prioritizing employee wellbeing can help organisations comply with health and safety regulations and avoid costly legal disputes related to employee health and wellbeing.I'm passionate about supporting individuals and organisations to create thriving and inclusive environments that help everyone reach their full potential. Worked with a small group of like-minded colleagues to set up a community interest company installing micro-renewable wind turbines. Teamed up with an investment company to provide turbines free of charge to alleviate fuel poverty which is a major health and wellbeing issue in Orkney. As the financial director, I managed budgets and grew the company to a multi-million-pound turnover within the first two years of business. This model was recognised for its innovative approach with the Institute of Directors awarding me third sector director of the year in 2013 and the company being named a winner by the Scotland Urban Regeneration Fund in 2014.
