Presented with the goal of optimizing an operator-free design related to the mining industry, our team of five began designing the concept for a fully autonomous haul truck. Within the time frame of 12 weeks, our group was able to fully design the frame, bucket, wheel-pod, engine and motor specifications, and an interactive script through MATLAB to simulate the truck’s “omni-directional” functioning with input from a gaming controller. o All designs were created in Solid Edge CAD, and machined on campus.o Successfully built and machined a solid-steel scale prototype, and MATLAB simulation script o Responsibilities: designing the frame, engine and sensor placements, and power system requirements for prototype construction; preparing weekly progress updates; preparing a final technical report.

I gained insight from every interaction I had, and quickly adapted a variety of skills that allowed my superiors the confidence to entrust in me new responsibilities.o Summer Internship with the General Contractor for the construction of two new residences for Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario. o Responsibilities: Reviewed and organized all purchase orders, purchase receipts, and delayed payments; directly managed contracting companies, clients, architects and Project Managers; attended and created “minutes” for all meetings with the owners, project managers, architects, and foremen; created a business development video for new project proposal; created, reviewed, and dispersed RFI’s and SI’s; and reviewed all shop drawings as per project specifications (architectural, electrical, and mechanical).
