I started, designed and built the Cisco Customer Proof of Concept (CPOC) Lab in Australia with two peers. The Cisco CPOC lab in Sydney serviced all of APAC at the time. Any time a prospect in APAC wanted to test a new Cisco product or software feature, it was tested in the Cisco CPOC Lab in Sydney. This experience helped me learn how to negotiate test.

I successfully sold Cisco's portfolio of routers, switches and security products to some of the largest telcos and service providers in Australia and New Zealand, although I mostly looked after Optus and helped to significantly increase revenue in that account, year over year.

Bay Networks was eventually acquired by Nortel Networks.I was so successful at selling routers and switches against Cisco at Wellfleet and Bay Networks that Cisco eventually head-hunted me to come and work for them.
