    Following LabLynx, I joined ProxyMed. (As a side note, though I make a living connecting great companies with great employees, this was the only job I've had to date that didn't come from my personal network. Personal networking is still the best and fastest way to gainful employment.)ProxyMed did a few things, including being one of the largest clearinghouses for electronic medical transactions. I worked for the laboratory services division, a leading provider of remote communication solutions for the clinical laboratory industry. At the time, customers included over 500 clinical testing laboratories and over 100,000 physician offices nationwide. To that point, the primary products had been proprietary/specialized printers for delivering laboratory results. I was brought in to sell a suite of outreach laboratory software products into the clinical laboratory vertical that would facilitate not only electronic reporting of the laboratory results, but also electronic ordering of the tests.
