Summary:- Carve-out of the divested part of the company to a new AWS cloud environment. Divested part is about 300 servers and 2,100 users.- Drive the migration of the Windows scope (workplace and server), including all the management tooling.- Lead the DevOps teams creating the designs and executing the infrastructure and application carve-out.- Lead the migration of users, workplaces, Office 365 for all carved-out users.- Support the application migration teams, including SAP, legacy systems and SaaS-applications.- Ensure a strict separation of the environments and controlled migration of assets to the new company, as required by the TSA contract.

Summary:- Define cloud & security principles for the high secure cloud platform supporting the journey to cloud (AWS+Azure).- Support the DevOps teams creating the cloud foundation with high demands on availability & security, working with domain architects and engineers.- Guide the design teams to translate the principles and architecture to actual implementations that realise the strict security and compliancy rules from the Dutch National Bank.Description:Help the IT organisation define their principles on cloud architecture, security and transition for their journey to the cloud (primarily AWS, but also Azure). Together with the lead infrastructure architect of the customer, define the reference architecture for the new cloud foundation. Also, guiding and supporting the DevOp teams to translate the principles and architecture to actual implementations that abide to the very strict security and compliancy rules of this financial organisation, thereby challenging both cloud vendors to work together and identify risks and define mitigating controls or even adjust their development roadmap to support these new requirements.In the last few months of the assignment, more focus on availability and disaster recovery in the cloud (both AWS and Azure) to ensure the application transitions are backed by a solid foundation which support the high service level requirements, even for most legacy applications.

Starting with driving and supporting the Enterprise Architects of the various business units defining the architecture principles for their cloud ambition. Furthermore, defining the inputs and structure for the overall business case for the cloud transition, based on an architecture blueprint created by me. This blueprint defines the cloud environment for the various transition stages towards the full-public cloud end-state. Besides levering native Azure cloud to its maximum, efficiency, security and availability where the key requirements to address.Also guided two pilot transition projects to test and proof both the viability of the architecture and the business case, as well as make the business aware of the impact and approach for cloud transitions.Finally, supporting the renewal of the security framework, in cooperation with the security officer and architects, to make it cloud-aware and prepare the organisation for securing the cloud environment.

Many applications have to support the business 24*7. Some of the key challenges tackled are security, availability, disaster recovery, connectivity, IAM and (intermediate) application and data integration, translating them to a cloud architecture and actual implementation and migration strategy and tooling.* Support the organization in choosing the cloud provider, delivering business case input and support the planning of the full cloud transition of all datacenters.* Defining the strategy, drafting the target architecture and cloud standards (long term) and transition architecture (short term) in close cooperation with a small team of solution and enterprise architects.* Define the factory approach for the migration of the complex business applications and services to the cloud, from assessment to implementation, working from a set of clear principles applications must follow to benefit from the new cloud environment. Key concepts developed and advocated were ‘loosely coupled’, ‘destroy & redeploy’ and ‘verified trust’, translating these principles into actual designs and implementations of the cloud and application architecture.
