I founded Phase2Careers, a nonprofit organization, in 2009, with the support of a Board of Directors, to assist the "Over 40" worker find new career opportunities through job search workshops and panels, networking and recruitment events, employment roundtables, career assessment, and starting a small business workshops.Our mission: Preparing and empowering the "Over 40" worker for career opportunities in the new economy. www.phase2careers.orgI play several roles in the organization. As a coordinator, I plan and implement numerous job search, career, and recruitment programs and activities targeted for the the Over 40 demographics.As a facilitator and teacher, I teach a variety of workshops including: Start and Grow Smart ( a collaborative program with Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center); Building an Effective Resume; Winning the Interview; Strategic Career Change; Taking the Fear Out of Networking; How to Prepare for a Job Fair; and more...I also represent our organization through outside presentations and by attending major events in the Bay Area.

Peninsula Employment Group, LLC emphasized two services: recruitment events and projects and career transition work.Peninsula Employment Group, LLC sponsored several recruitment events in the Bay Area including the coordination of major community job fairs. We also assisted numerous nonprofits in coordinating job fairs, career workshops, and community events.Additionally, Peninsula Employment Group, LLC, assisted individuals through the career transition process.

Organized and coordinated monthly career industry workshops highlighting a variety of industries. Also, co-founded an East Bay Job Developer's Association. Co-facilitated a weekly Job Club.Developed business relationships for the Eden Area One Stop Career Center through job fairs and onsite recruitment events, career industry workshops and educational forums, creation of business advisory and excellence events, and network with the business community in the East Bay.Coordinated job fairs and special events for Rubicon Programs in Hayward.

Assisted the Career Development Center of College of San Mateo in a number of ways---career counseling, coordination of special events (job fairs, career days), as well as assisting in creating an internship program.

Created and oversaw a weekly employment column of career experts.

Taught a variety of classes including: Introduction to Human Services; Communication Skills; Community Organizing; Senior Seminar; Internship; Transformative Learning A and B; Introduction to Community Relations.

Founded and managed a nonprofit career center for 18 years. Through my work at Career Education Center, we assisted hundreds of employers and applicants through a variety of career development and educational programs including:*Career Counseling and Job Search/Career Workshops*Coordinated numerous Bay Area job fairs and career days*Sponsored a state-funded computer training program *Implemented management training for Bay Area employers*Oversaw large-scale outplacement career projects.

Coordinated the Human Services Program for both the Canada College (housed at this campus) and College of San Mateo. Interfaced with both students and faculty, as well as provided input for human services curriculum. Initiated educational partnerships with ouside agencies.
