In 1996, I left Applied Biosystems to focus on my invention, the ECO Funnel, and founded #CPLabSafety around it. In December 2000, I established NovaBay Pharmaceuticals. Through the strength of our patented products, including NVC-422 (Auriclosene), NVC-101 (Avenova, NeutroPhase), and strategic partnerships with Alcon-Novartis, KCI, and later Galderma, Virbac, China Pioneer Pharma, Shing Poong Pharma in Korea, my team and I took the company public. Between 2000 and 2015, we successfully raised ~$100 million in the capital market and an additional $100 million non-dilutive capital from global partnerships.In 2011, I founded Emery Pharma a contract research organization (CRO) as a subsidiary of NovaBay Pharma to not only support NovaBay but also support other Pharma companies. In 2015, I assumed ownership of Emery Pharma and too the company private and have since expanded our capabilities, relocating the company from Emeryville to Alameda, CA (near San Francisco).
