Directs the activities associated with grants and contracts accounting for the College of Arts and Science-Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Science. Reviews grant proposals and identifies and resolves compliance issues related to university and sponsor requirements. Interprets pre-award and post-award university and sponsored guidelines to faculty and staff. Signs proposals certifying that staff salaries and effort expensed to research grants and contracts is accurate. Manage financial accounting systems to track expenditures for all programs. Administers policies and procedures in accordance with state, federal and organizational guidelines. Hires, trains and supervises Grant Compliance staff. Oversees both the pre-award and post-award activity for over 30 operating projects with a total of over $50 M in grant funding,

Pre Award-provided proposal preparation support to faculty and managed the proposal submission process. Post Award-managed grants payroll and personnel, managed grants accounts payable, direct and indirect expenses,  Coordinate and manage approval processes using Cost Principal (OMB Circulars A-21) programs. Ensure compliance with Federal, state and university budgetary operations regarding research programs. Approve and monitor off campus equipment use, equipment disposition and relocations. Approve terminal leave for employees separating from the university.Highlights/AccomplishmentsAs a grants manager I had the opportunity to oversee more than 100 federal, state and private funded grants totally over $20,000,000. Encounter 10 years of grant management with no audit review criticism.
