You might say I was born into the construction industry, descending from a long line of contractors and developers. He began working summers in the various trades as a young boy. In 1985 at the age of 16 I took my GED and left school to chase the "big bucks" construction offered, choosing structural wood framing as my favored trade. Like many framers, I bounced around from one company to another as work ebbed and flowed in his home state of New Mexico. I also traveled out to Texas, Colorado, Arizona, and California, following the large scale projects, often as a "pieceworker" or contractor, eventually attaining his own GB 98 contractors license. In 1995, I was fortunate enough to meet my mentor Darrell Julian, who would change my life forever by giving me a career beyond what I could even imagine at that time. Together we eventually began to fabricate wall panels at first using hand drawings, then computer software like Solid Builder, WallsPlus, Mitek, BCAD, as well as AutoCad. Today I own and operate my own design, estimate, consulting and management company, eXact Digital. I enjoy helping others grow their own company and experience in a similar fashion.
