Successful deployment across South Africa literally redefined how ABSA Bank designed and implemented software to support large-scale financing of shopping center, skyscraper, and major commercial development projects.

Thesystem's shortcomings resulted in downtimes of up to 2 days a month, which jeopardizedcustomer retention performance and confidence in the company's services. Planned andimplemented an automated monitoring system with voice, SMS and email notification fortechnicians and service centers around the country.Results: The automated monitoring system brought downtime to less than 1 day per year.The service has not failed since the implementation was completed.Initiated an analysis of a unified single view of customer data across the company'sthree main divisions. Each division had their own database, preventing a single view of acustomer's services with the company. Designed and implemented a unified database strategyand system for the company.Results: Improved customer analysis and cross selling of products increased sales by 5%.The utilization of a single customer bill reduced the cost of printed material for billingpurposes.Identified the need for an Intranet based application that could be accessed fromcustomer sites by technicians to fill in site evaluations needed for processing ofcellular installations. Designed and implemented a cellular project database that reducedthe amount of paperwork and duplication of data.Results: Increased efficiency of the installation department and reduced installationtime by 50%, which generated considerable savings for the company.

Responsible for the company'sY2K software migrationAssumed responsibility for the redesign of an old DOS based legacy systems to a Y2Kcompliant, web-based system. Redesigned and improved the circuit manager and TrunkedMobile Radio systems to a web based ASP/SQL Server application.Results: Increased efficiency of the system and improved reporting to management.
