• A value Operates and performs organizational maintenance on the LSD-41 class propulsion system. Operates the TANO propulsion system control console. • Calibrates, inspects, assembles and disassembles, troubleshoots, and overhauls the Colt-Pielstick propulsion's diesel and Fairbanks Morse diesel generator, its associated subsystem and power trains leader that defines teamwork.• Monitoring the quality of shipboard fuels through a vigilant fuel testing program, and provide familiarity with logs, records, and reports necessary to track fuel and oil usage.• Instructed the physical properties of propulsion/JP-5 fuels used in Navy ships and aircraft and the significance of the quality test performed thereon; functional training regarding steps and procedures to conduct required quality surveillance testing of propulsion, JP-5 fuels and oils used in Navy ships and aircraft.• Conducted training to 10 personnel on pollution abatement and control, and reports needed to monitor shipboard fuel and oil use; and characteristics and hazards of fuel tanks, transfer, stripping and service piping, pumps, and filters.
