About Ron Roberts
I am now happily retired and doing the occasional consulting gig. Previously I was a Solution Architect at Omni Financial here in Vero Beach and, before that, at SAP Customer Data Cloud, the world's leading CIM (customer identity management) services provider. In that role I assisted prospective customers with gaining an understanding of the entire Gigya ecosystem and how it can be used to full advantage with their own web properties and mobile applications.Prior to Omni, SAP and Gigya, my work has been primarily in the Oil & Gas Pipeline industry with applications for corrosion, cathodic protection testing and pipeline integrity. My business partner, Darren Mossman, and I are the authors of M. C. Miller's ProActive software application. I have been a senior manager in most of the firms that I have worked in during my career and have usually been the chief technical resource at the firm. Computer Programming continues to be my favorite work activity to this day.My early specialty was authoring software titles in the Multimedia and Graphics genre. Brightbill-Roberts & Co., Ltd. which bears my name was a pioneering PC software developer in the early 1980's. Later on I moved into the video game industry, working on some major titles for the Super Nintendo, Sega and Sega CD platforms.After a short stint with Voyetra-Turtle Beach (music software and deluxe sound cards) as their VP R&D, I then landed at M. C. Miller and eventually became their Vice President. M. C. Miller is a hardware, software and parts supplier to the oil and gas pipeline industry -- particularly in the area of cathodic protection testing and pipeline integrity operations.Specialties: people and project management, multimedia, graphics, html5/css3/js, NodeJS, Windows software development, mobile app software development, embedded systems, C#, ASP.NET, Java, databases, etc.
