I have excellent communications skills based on years of working with a large range of people and personality types across many different and varied situations including employee supervision, contractor negotiations, field operations, administrative meetings, operational planning sessions, funder engagement, scientific presentations, academic lectures, student supervision, etc.I have project management experience highlighted by a multi-year major university program that encompassed university and commercial stakeholders, comprised of significant upgrade of Memorial University’s large, deep-water unmanned submarine and a development program focused on producing technology for commercial partners.My experience includes a leadership role with high tech University research lab focused on development and operational ocean technology outcomes in the maritime and polar environment.Some of my career highlights include: - Lead author on six successful regional and national project proposals totalling over $3.8 million in hard cash contributions to Memorial University of Newfoundland. - Significant field experience, including planning and execution, for maritime operations in coastal Newfoundland, the high Arctic and Antarctica involving a broad assortment of assets such as zodiacs, underwater robotics (autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) and remotely operated vehicles (ROV)) workboats, icebreakers, boom trucks, and helicopters. - Developed and delivered presentations on complex technical topics to multiple audiences including general public, scientific, industrial and community stakeholders. One highlight includes an invited presentation to the Swedish scientific community on my technical and operational experience on marine robotics.- Published five journal articles and fifteen conference papers related to marine technology and operations.- Coauthored six technical reports on technical developments and milestones related to the Responsive AUV Localization and Mapping Project at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
