Project went through full lifecycle development, including case studies, requirements, technical design, prototyping, development, code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, system testing, user acceptance testing, and documentation.* Interacted with developers, business analysts, senior management, including the CIO, COO, and CEO, end users, and field management on a regular basis. -
Technical Team LeadThe Travel Company Apr 1998 - Sep 1998New York, New York, Us* One of two Architects of the CRS subsystem. Architected and developed an object-oriented, multi-threaded, asynchronous CRSQueue in VB 5.0 for regulating requests to the CRS, a remote mainframe system that all airlines report inventory to. * Architected and developed a set of parsing objects that interpreted the unstructured stream of data returned from the airlines host system, turn them into XML messages, then passed the messages back to the calling application. Objects are Visual Basic COM objects running under MTS. Used Visio to document object model, messaging, and data flow diagrams.* Architected and developed Flight Attendant Price Management functionality. Working closely with the Revenue Management team for financial detail, key VB COM objects were enhanced to adjust the airline ticket pricing returned to the user based on market conditions and configurable call center options. -

Responsible for new and creative ways to make the separate InterZine eCommerce shops more viable and profitable. Responsible for ensuring all editorial content in the stores was posted in a timely fashion, working with the individual shop producers under me to make sure all deadlines were met and all data was correct. Coordinated my team's efforts with the business model set forth by upper management.* Designed InterZine’s WebChecker application. WebChecker is an object-oriented, Visual Basic 5.0 application utilizing a ActiveX Server which a front end interfaces with. The purpose of the application is to run through a web site, using API to determine file statistics, and repair “bad HTML and log results. Bad HTML is scenarios like images with ho HEIGHT or WIDTH tags, etc.* Debugged and fixed anomalies in a C++ DLL used in generating ad banners on our web sites.* Redesigned user interface for five (5) eCommerce sports stores, bringing the stores to work under one set of Cold Fusion templates.* Developed back-end web-based input / maintenance system for inputting products into eCommerce store database, for tracking orders places within stores, and for reporting store sales on a dynamic basis.* Developed and implemented an online "eCredit" system wherein Members of the iGOLF Player's Club and the Mountain Club could receive store credit for winning games or for joining.* Developed back-end financial tracking system for five (5) eCommerce sports sites.* Designed, developed, and maintained over 30 relational databases across five (5) MS-SQL 6.5 servers. Used ERWin 3.0 Open for database design and management.* Responsible for interfacing between production staff and management for technical expertise.* Responsible for custom-built Cold Fusion templates on a dynamic, as-needed basis.

Project included GUI’s for marketing and capture teams, EDI messaging specs, reporting, and extensive import/export routines. Used ERWin 2.5 for database design and management.* Developed “In-Store fulfillment” system wherein all 4000+ Blockbuster stores could use Online channels to special order product for customers. Back-end system for dial-in is a Galacticomm BBS.* Responsible for custom programming in Visual Basic 4.0, Microsoft Access 2.0, and Access 7.0 and Microsoft SQL Server 6.5* Designed and implemented EDI specifications for data passing between Blockbuster, Viacom, Radish Communications, Valley Records distributors, Baker & Taylor, and other online sources.* Responsible for technology procurement for Online Services division.* Project Manager for “Radish” project; an online Voice View service provided by Blockbuster Music. * Designed back-end database application for Viacom Retail Stores using Visual Basic 4.0. This application tracked vendors and developers and open items in designing and building individual retail locations.* Project data leader for Blockbuster Entertainment Internet; coordinating technologies and resources between Blockbuster and Viacom to develop Blockbuster’s full-fledged web-site.* Data Manager for “Juno” project. Juno is a free Internet e-mail service sponsored by Blockbuster.* Data Manager for “Sprint Internet Passport, Blockbuster Edition” project, a branded web browser venture launched by Blockbuster, Sprint, and Netscape Communications.* Provide weekly status reports to upper management and coordinate my team’s efforts with the directives passed down from upper management. -
