Having been trained as a technical translator (German/English/Dutch) and having worked in that position at Stork for a couple of years, I was promoted to BU Manager of the (inhouse, non-profit) translation agencies in Hengelo and Boxmeer. I was able to turn these around into profit centers within 2 years. When I left in 1994 to become a partner at Balance, both translation agencies were profitable and working for internal and external customers.I joined Balance texts & translations / Balance Juridica in 1994 as one of the partners and in 2001 became Managing Partner. Balance was one of the leading legal translation agencies in the Netherlands and worked for almost all of the top-20 international law firms in the Netherlands and abroad.In May 2018, when Balance joined Livewords, I became Regional Director for Livewords. In May 2021 I decided to return to my original profession, translation and revision/QA. I am now a self-employed translator/revisor.Specialties: technical and legal translation, sworn translator English/German/Dutch.
