After completing my studies at the Breda University of Applied Sciences (NHTV) in 1990, I worked for the Jewish Historical Museum in Amsterdam. In 1992 I started my career in the congress industry as Project Assistant at VU University Conference Service. In the first few years my work was mostly related to congress registration and abstract handling. Later, as a Project Manager, the focus changed to logistics and conference management. From 2001 I worked as Project Manager at VU University Medical Center. At the dept. PAOG Course and Congress Organisation I was responsible for the overall coordination of medical congresses and training courses for up to 1.500 participants.In April 2008 I joined the Amsterdam office of MCI, a global communications and event management company in the position of Project Manager. I continued my career in the MICE industry in 2009 at the PCO NewBrooklyn in Breukelen.As of April 2012 I manage conference and events at Global Reporting Initiative. GRI is an independent international organization that has pioneered sustainability reporting since 1997. GRI helps businesses and governments worldwide understand and communicate their impact on critical sustainability issues such as climate change, human rights, governance and social well-being. This enables real action to create social, environmental and economic benefits for everyone.
