In 2001 we recorded a 3 Million EBIT gain on net sales of 100 Million with no change in volume of unit solds. This major impact can be directly related to implementing a strategic program of value based pricing. Develop of quote configurator tools, tight discount polices and effective customer and market intelligence were the key drivers of the results.

I was appointed to the new role of Pricing and Forecast Manager by the US National Sales Manager Gary Allanson. The role was dedicated to analysing and evaluating Arnotts $70M trade spend budget and deterimining the best ROI for promotions and ensuring we forecast the correct amount of stock and predicted the expected trade expenditure for earnings forecasts. Improved strategies, pricing structures and replicatable processes achieved pre the roll out ERP systems, web based tools or corporate buy-in and acceptance of pricing management as a functional discipline in its own right. We achieved the task with spreadsheets, syndicated scan data and strong controls and processes. -
FounderUp To Eleven Guitar Tuition Jan 1990 - Nov 1996Up to Eleven Guitar Tuition was built around allowing students to play the music they listen and love.I designed a music system so that learning was easy intuitive and relatable on a personal level for every student. The business model was set up in conjunction with schools to take away the pain of busy working parents having to rush from work to get their children to music lessons and wait 30 mins - too short to go anywhere and too long to wait. ( no smart phones back then). Over 1000 students went through the program. Like many things Pricing and music have many principles in common and the skills picked up teaching music paved the way for future endeavours.
