About Rony Silva

With a solid 15+ years professional trajectory in the field of information technology, over 8 years performing strategic functions, the last few years in the Global Cyber Operations team of the Anglo American Group. Since the beginning of this journey in the Group, I have been working as a Business Information Security Analyst (BISA), working in partnership and closely with the business and IT areas of Anglo American in Brazil, with the main objective of ensuring and improving the protection of the company’s information and operations, together with key stakeholders in the country, including important disciplines of Information Security Management. In a horizontal move, I currently integrate the SOC (Security Operation Centre) team as an OT Security Analyst, with regional scope (Brazil, Chile and Peru - LATAM), focused on applying relevant security controls in industrial and OT (Operational Technology) environments for the detection and response to cybersecurity incidents, also risk and vulnerability management in ICS (Industrial Control Systems) and SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition), contributing to the design and architecture of OT networks, applying the Purdue Model and various other top framweworks in the market. The creation of analytical reports in Excel and data analysis tools (BI) to promote visibility and transparency is another essential part of my role, aligning our security strategy with the organization’s business goals.
